AI enabled technologies are becoming increasingly ubiquitous. They are used to make important decisions that can impact a person’s finances, employment, education, and life chances. Yet, there are inequities encoded into AI systems that disadvantage certain groups while privileging others. Often women, those who identify as women, BIPOC and marginalized communities are disadvantaged by these systems in ways that reflect, uphold, and reinforce historical power structures. How do these power imbalances get encoded into technology and how can we take practical steps to address this problem? In this session, Katrina Ingram shares her personal journey from marketing and media management to AI ethics advisor and entrepreneur. Join us on October 20th, 2021. More information here.
