Dr. Aminah Robinson Fayek is a professional engineer and a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta, and she holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Fuzzy Hybrid Decision Support Systems for Construction. She is also currently in her third consecutive term as NSERC Industrial Research Chair (IRC) in Strategic Construction Modeling and Delivery. Dr. Robinson Fayek has spent the past two decades working alongside construction industry owners, contractors, and labour groups across Alberta and Canada. The mandate of her IRC Chair is to carry out industrially relevant research to deliver innovation to the Canadian construction industry in the form of technology transfer, research, education, and training. Her program focuses on the use of artificial intelligence to develop advanced decision support systems for construction, and her research has been implemented with leading members of the construction industry. She has contributed to the development of a number of construction industry best practices, many of which employ artificial intelligence, in applications related to productivity, rework, project performance, risk analysis, organizational competencies, construction workforce development, and contractor prequalification. Dr. Robinson Fayek has garnered international recognition for her work and her dedication to the advancement of comprehensive research-based solutions to key industry problems.
