Dr. Kisha Supernant is Métis and an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology. Her research interests include digital mapping, spatial analysis and GIS, open data ethics in archaeology, and Indigenous digital cultural heritage. She is currently the Director of the Institute of Prairie and Indigeous Archaeology (IPIA) and runs the Exploring Metis Identity Through Archaeology (EMITA) project, which seeks to broaden and deepen understandings of Métis cultural heritage, including digitization and curation that is attentive to Indigenous ways of knowing.
