Martha White is an assistant professor of Computing Science at the University of Alberta. Previously she was an assistant professor in the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University in Bloomington, and received her PhD in Computing Science from the University of Alberta in 2015. Her primary research goal is to develop algorithms for autonomous agents learning from streams of data. She focuses on developing practical algorithms for reinforcement learning and representation learning. Martha is the Director of the Reinforcement Learning and AI Lab, a Fellow of the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute and a recent recipient of a Canada CIFAR AI Chair.
