Project Overview
Both machine learning and deterministic algorithms are used in the Physical and Engineering Sciences. What are the advantages and shortcomings of each approach for applications in the natural and applied sciences? Is there potential for hybrid algorithms? Can we devise physics-informed machine learning algorithms, or machine-learning-enhanced deterministic modeling and inversion?
